As
part of Multi-State Learning Collaborative-2 efforts, a
Michigan Accreditation Continuous Quality Improvement
Collaborative (MACQIC) teleconference took place on
January 5, 2007 from 1-2 pm EST. The focus of that call
was to respond to questions concerning the Request for
Proposal (RFP) that was sent to all Michigan Local
Health Departments (LHDs) on December 14, 2006. In
addition to responding to questions, a brief overview of
the second round of the Multi-State Learning
Collaborative was provided, which included the purpose
of the RFP. Teleconference participation included
representation from 15 LHDs.

In
September of 2004, the Michigan Public Health
Institute's Accreditation Program hosted a visit from
Lee Thielen of the
National Network of Public Health Institutes
(NNPHI). Ms. Thielen was in the process of performing
research for a white paper reviewing the positions that
major public health organizations in multiple states
have taken on accreditation and comparable programs.
The paper was presented to the Robert Wood Johnson
