Michigan, in its ongoing efforts to enhance and improve the Michigan Local Public Health Accreditation Program, is once again participating in the Multi-State Learning Collaborative (MLC). The national focus of this second initiative (MLC-2) is to further enhance the efforts of 10 states already conducting systematic performance capacity assessment or accreditation programs. These states are: Florida, Illinois*, Kansas, Michigan*, Minnesota, Missouri*, New Hampshire, North Carolina*, Ohio, and Washington*. The goal of MLC-2 is to bring state and local practitioners and other stakeholders together in a collaborative effort to explore approaches to quality improvement within the field of public health. For a brief description of each state's assessment/accreditation activities, please click here. Michigan’s focus for MLC-2 is to strengthen the organizational capacity of local health departments (LHDs) within the context of Accreditation through the application of continuous quality improvement tools and methods. To accomplish this, the Michigan Accreditation Continuous Quality Improvement Collaborative, called MACQIC, has been formed. Through a competitive process, four Michigan LHDs have been selected to participate in MACQIC. These county LHDs are: Berrien, Genesee, Kent, and Ottawa. *Original participants in the Multi-state Learning Collaborative Please click here to access the Multi-State Learning Collaborative 3 Invitation to Apply |
